Filipino Theatre Artists

B was featured on Filipino Theatre Artists America which is a project that aims to collect stories and narratives of FTA who currently reside in the USA.

B was excited to connect with fellow kababayans as well as have a platform to share some of the joys of being a theatre artists. It is so important to amplify under represented voices, B is always excited to share their thoughts as they discover more about who they are and what they believe.

MANICMAN!

B Starred as Malcolm Manalo in the first reading of ManicMan! Written by Marlo Virina ManicMan! follow Malcolm who, in coping with bipolar disorder, Mal crafts the newest comic book superhero “ManicMan!” with the help of his small-town friends.

BELLY UP

B was featured in Jackalope Theatre Company’s 13th Season of their Living Newspaper Series. Belly Up was written by Preston Choi and directed by Lucky Stiff and can be found on Youtube.

B was thrilled to collaborate with two of Chicago’s greatest creatives, and is proud to bring such a timely issue to light.

 

GREY/GRAY

B wrote a piece that was published in The Documentarian, an “Artist Documentary” magazine created by Mána Taylor and Telo Hoy. The piece explores what it’s like to live in a gray space. Told from the perspective of B who is “Bi-racial. Mixed. Hapa. A Third-culture kid. Grey. Gray.”

10-10-10

In October of 2020 B challenged himself to make 10, 10(ish) second horror films, in 10 days. B created this project with the help from their incredibly talented friends. B has a strong interest in filmmaking and what better way to get experience than to just go out and do it.

Fragmented

B is beyond excited to be working on a brilliant play asking the question of what does it mean to be biracial and bicultural in America. Written by and staring Karissa Murrell Myers. Brennan Urbi and Emily Marso will help her bring this story to life.

IRIMI

Brennan wrote a short film, Irimi, that was produced by CCPA and Upright Monkey. Irimi was Directed by Jeff Christian, Starred Ashton Norris and Leanne Hays, and Choreographed by the incredibly talented TJ Tapp. Irimi follows two dancers as they deal with the loss of a friend. Our dancers realize they have a choice, they can ignore the pain and walk away or to use the weight of their situation to their advantage.


Make/Believe

Brennan will be working with Ghostlight Ensemble for the first time to bring to life a new children’s show. Asherella is an adaptation of Cinderella written by Lori Taylor. Brennan will be playing Scottie.

Brennan will be playing Peter/Boy in Big Noise Theatres’ Peter and the Starcatcher! Brennan is thrilled to work along side Derek and this incredible cast of orphans.

Lakeside Shakespeare 2019

Brennan will be performing in Michigan with Lakeside Shakespeare Theatre. LST is putting on Aphra Behn’s The Rover where Brennan plays Angelica Bianca and The Bard’s The Two Gentlewomen of Verona where Brennan plays Lucettto.
